As a responsible entity, we have established the sugar industry trust fund with the aim of initiating a private sector led sugar beneficiation program called the green belt initiative.
The green belt initiative will help small scale farmers to collectively produce and mill sugar cane in Botswana to substitute our sugar imports as well as creating a sugar value chain in Botswana.
